Privacy policy

No data collection. Everything goes between your phone and your own Mac.

JoeBro Mobile does not collect any data. The developer has no server for it, no account system, no analytics and no advertising, and nothing in the app tracks you.

Where your data goes

Everything you do in the app goes directly between your iPhone and your own Mac, which runs JoeBro. Your chats, documents, memory files, tasks and notifications live on that Mac. The app connects to the address you paired it with, over your home network or your own Tailscale network. It does not talk to any server run by the developer.

The app keeps a copy of recent chats on the phone so they stay readable offline. Your pairing address and token are stored in the iPhone Keychain. Both stay on the device and are removed when you forget the backend or delete the app.

Models you choose

Your Mac may send prompts to a model provider you have set up there, such as a local model or a hosted API with your own key. That is a connection between your Mac and that provider, configured by you. It is covered by that provider's terms, not by this app.

Push notifications

Push is optional and off until you turn it on. If you configure it on your Mac, notifications are delivered through Apple's push service (APNs): your Mac sends the notification to Apple, and Apple delivers it to your phone. The developer is not involved. You can hide notification previews in the app settings.

Device permissions

The app asks for the camera (to scan the pairing QR code and to photograph things for a chat), the photo library, the microphone and speech recognition (voice messages), your calendars, Face ID (to lock the app), the local network (to reach your Mac) and, if you choose, your location. Location is sent only to your own Mac. Each permission is optional and can be turned off in iPhone Settings.

Demo mode

The demo button loads sample data bundled inside the app. It makes no network requests and does not touch your pairing.

Changes and contact

JoeBro Mobile is open source under the GPLv3, so you can read exactly what it does in the repository. If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page. Questions can go to the issue tracker.
